The Bargeman’s Rest is one of Newports few Free Houses, sitting right on the River Medina in the heart of the capital town.

We are open all day everyday, serving fine Wines & real ales. Food served from 12pm – 9pm.

We have live music most evenings
( see entertainment ) So for the very best in great food, live music, and good hospitality moor up here at The Bargeman’s Rest.

Open all day Monday-Saturday 9:30am to 11:00pm, Sunday to 10.30pm.

Our full menu is available all day throughout the year. Served from 12 noon to 9:30pm and 9pm Sunday. Breakfasts now being served from 9.30am.

We are very happy to take table reservations. However please enquire about functions at certain times of year.

We take all major credit cards (minimum transaction £10) but regret we cannot accept American Express, Diners Card or cheques.
